  • Head of Year & English Specialist (£5K Golden Hello)

    The Abbey School is seeking to appoint a Head of Year for Key Stage 3 and 4, and as well as joining the English Department as an English Specialist, to start from January-April 2025.

    You will have excellent subject knowledge and be confident that students in your care will make exceptional progress. This is a great opportunity for someone to join a team which is forward-thinking and focused on doing the very best for every student.

    We have an ambitious vision for our school driven by our excellent team to ensure our students experience as much Outstanding and Good practice as possible. In line with this, we are looking for a candidate who can regularly deliver lessons to these standards.

    This is a full time, permanent role, paid based on the STPC Main/Upper Teachers Pay Range, dependant on experience, as well as a TLR2a (£8,279) and a Golden Hello payment as outlined below:

    The school is offering a recruitment incentive of £5,000. This is split into the following payments - £2,500 subject to the successful completion of a 6-month probationary period, and a further £2,500 to be paid in as a retention incentive. This is subject to the successful candidate remaining at the school for at least that next year.

  • Librarian

    Salary Kent Scheme Pay Scale KR5 (FTE £24,040 - £25,002)

    The Abbey School is seeking to appoint a highly effective Librarian to join the school's Learning Resources Centre from January 2025.

    The successful candidate will have an attention to detail, will work to a high standard, and will seek to ensure a positive educational environment through their work. 

    This is a full time (37 hours per week), permanent role, Term Time Only, paid based on the Kent Scheme Pay Scale point KR5 (FTE £24,040 - £25,002– actual salary calculated on a pro rata basis - actual per annum £20,236.19 - £21,045.97).
