The Abbey School Celebrates Strong Summer 2024 GCSE Outcomes

The Abbey School proudly announces remarkable achievements in the 2024 GCSE examinations. This year's results reflect not only the academic excellence of our students but also their resilience and dedication. The Abbey School continues to uphold its ethos of "Be the Best You Can Be," guiding each student to reach their full potential and excel in their studies.

The 2024 results showcase significant progress and dedication across various subjects. Dr. Rowland Speller, Headteacher, commented, “This year’s results highlight the resilience and perseverance of our students. Their dedication to overcoming challenges has led to remarkable achievements, and we are incredibly proud of their successes. These results demonstrate our continued commitment to providing an environment where every student can thrive and reach their full potential.”

Noteworthy Achievements Include:

  • Leah Winchester: 8 grades 9-4, including Geography (8) and English (7).
  • Verity Tooth: Grade 9 in Dance, with 8 grades 9-4.
  • James Tillman: Grade 8 in History and 7s in core subjects.
  • Oliver Smith: Grade 9-8 in Science, 8 in French and Geography.

The school also reported strong improvements in core subjects like Maths, English, and Science, with significant increases in students achieving higher grades. Modern Foreign Languages also saw remarkable progress, reflecting the school’s focus on academic excellence and a broad curriculum.
